Welcome to the Marine Museum in Karlskrona – Sweden’s national museum for the history of the Swedish Navy from 1522 to the present day!
In the Submarine Hall you can learn about the history of the Swedish submarine force through the navy’s very first submarine, the Shark, and board the submarine HMS Neptun, which was active during the Cold War. In the beautiful Galjonshallen you can find perhaps the world’s finest collection of figureheads. The several-meter-high wooden sculptures once sat on the bows of Swedish warships. In the Wreck Tunnel you can see a real shipwreck from the 17th century on the seabed – right outside your window! You can also go on guided tours, visit the museum ships, learn to tie knots in the Knopboden, or why not let your creativity run wild in the Seaman’s Workshop!
